ABOUT FRANK ROYLE

  • Experience
    • Preparing personal income tax returns since 1959.
    • Managing individuals' personal bank accounts, properties and estates since 1969.
    • Worked at Bank of Montreal from 1959 to 1997. Spent 25 years managing Major Corporate Relationships from its offices in Montreal.
    • Spent 2 years training Bank of Montreal employees in 8 North American cities to set up and manage effective meetings.
    • Acting as meeting facilitator since 1992.
  • General
    • Awarded the Senate of Canada 150 Medal in 2017 for community service.
    • Awarded the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Medal in 2012 for community service.
    • Coordinated the establishment a new medical centre in downtown Hudson Quebec which opened in May, 2011 and continues to play an integral role in its day-to-day operations and on its Board of Directors as Secretary-Treasurer.
    • Played key role in the establishment of the Vaudreuil-Soulanges Palliative Care Residence in Hudson, Quebec which opened 2010 and served as Honourary Co-Chair of its Foundation for one year.
    • Served as President of Heritage Hudson which acquired the local train station from Canadian Pacific Railway in 1997. Led an initiative resulting in Hudson Village Theatre (HVT) making the station its permanent home in 1998. HVT ultimately became its owner in 1999 where it continues to flourish to this day.
    • Chaired Hudson Town Planning Advisory Committee, Heritage Hudson, Parish of Vaudreuil Finance Committee and Parish of Vaudreuil Stewardship Committee.
    • Has been Treasurer of NOVA Hudson (formerly Victorian Order of Nurses - Hudson District) since 1982.
    • Was Treasurer of Hudson Players' Club and St. James' Church.
    • Served on the Administrative Council for Health and Social Services of Vaudreuil-Soulanges for twelve years.
    • Served as Chair of Knight Singers, Hudson Music Club and Hudson Badminton Club and in other years as Treasurer of these groups.
    • Served as Chair of the Hudson Town Council's Sub-Committee responsible for drafting its Demolition By-Law (1996 & 1997) and its Architectural Control By-Law (1999).
    • Graduated cum lauda in Honours Economics at Sir George Williams University.
    • Awarded the Sun Life of Canada Prize for Economics.
    • Awarded the Bank of Montreal’s President’s Scholarship to attend university full time on full salary from 1968 to 1972.
    • Attended Hudson High School from 1948 to 1959. Awarded Birks Bronze Medal for Cooperation at graduation.
    • Resident in Hudson since 1946.
    • Born in Arundel, Quebec in 1942.
